HB Series

Van Air HB Series heated regenerative compressed air dryers are designed to protect pneumatic equipment and processes from the harmful effects of moisture within compressed air lines. When you don't have compressed air to spare, Van Air HB Series air dryers provide the solution requiring no purge air for adsorbent desiccant regeneration.

HI Series

Van Air HI Series internally heated regenerative compressed air dryers utilize a multiple-element heater located within the desiccant tower to heat the purge air for the regeneration of the adsorbent desiccant. The -40° F / C dew point achieved with these compressed air dryers virtually eliminates internal pipe corrosion, adding years to your air system piping.

HP Series

Van Air HP Series heated purge regenerative compressed air dryers provide a low -40° F/C pressure dew point for superior air line moisture protection while offering the efficiency of convection-heated desiccant regeneration with minimal purge air

HL Series

Instead of using an external heat source, the HL Series heatless regenerative compressed air dryer utilizes a percentage of dry purge air to regenerate the moisture laden desiccant.

HLS Series

The little brother of our highly recommended HL Series heatless regenerative compressed air dryer, our HLS Series air dryers provide a low -40° or -100° F dew point between 55 and 150 SCFM.

MHL Series

Van Air MHL Series mini heatless regenerative compressed air dryers provide a -40° or -65° F dew point while operating between 10 to 25 SCFM. With simple twist-off desiccant cartridges, the MHL Series compressed air dryer is dependable and very easy to maintain.

Non-Cycling Refrigerated

For air line protection, Van Air RD Series refrigerated compressed air dryers combine the newest technology in heat transfer with a proven refrigeration system to keep your pneumatic equipment running at peak efficiency. Providing a constant 35 - 38° F dew point and low initial cost, an RD Series refrigerated air dryer provides the best combination of performance and economy.

All the components of an RD Series refrigerated compressed air dry are housed in a powder coated cabinet to ensure a long useful life. All units include a refrigerant analyzer light, non-cycling refrigerant compressors, a compressor run light, and a built-in drain.

A capacity control valve allows the dryer to operate efficiently at low loads by preventing heat exchanger freeze-ups. The control valve also keeps the dew point steady when the air flow changes. For maximum performance, it is recommended that a pre-filter be installed.

Absorbent Desiccant

Energy-free and environmentally safe, the simple design of our Single Tower Dryers allow them to be extremely versatile. Offered as a single unit for component flexibility or a skid-package system for installation convenience, these compressed air dryers provide dependable dew point protection when used in both indoor and outdoor applications.

Van Air is the originator of single tower dryer technology. Our single tower absorbent desiccant compressed air dryers prevent moisture in pipelines by suppressing the pressure dew point by 20° F or more from the inlet temperature. Water vapor is removed from the air as it passes through a bed of absorbent desiccant within the dryer. Our single tower absorbent desiccant dryers are adaptable to changing conditions and can be installed indoors or out. They are the most versatile and cost-effective air dryers manufactured today.

Van Air single tower compressed air dryers require minimal maintenance, have no moving parts, and are built to last. All metal surfaces of the vessel interior are primed and coated with polyurethane material. All exterior metal surfaces are protected with an enamel coating. All of this ensures that our single tower air dryers are able to withstand corrosion, chipping, and cracking in the most demanding environments. With a 10 year warranty, we offer the best vessel warranty in the business.

No electricity is needed to operate a Van Air single tower desiccant air dryer. Simply add the appropriate Van Air absorbent desiccant for effective and efficient operation. Typically, a properly sized single tower air dryer only needs to be filled with absorbent desiccant two or three times per year. In addition to the energy savings, operating costs are minimized since desiccant usage is based on actual air flow through the dryer.

The Van Air absorbent desiccant used in our single tower compressed air dryers is CFC free. It is also non-toxic and non-polluting posing no hazard to groundwater, living organisms or sewage treatment systems as demonstrated through the results of a bioassay test.

With low initial captial investment and operating costs, energy-free and environmentally safe operation, and wide application versatility, our single tower compressed air dryers are the winning choice for maximizing air system efficiency and corporate profits.

EMD Series cycling refrigerated

Desiccant Air Dryer
Desiccant Air Dryer

Van Air EMD Series cycling refrigerated compressed air dryers provide a consistent dew point when running at less than the design capacity. Since the actual energy cost is directly related to the amount of air dried, energy savings is maximized. For example, in a pneumatic system designed to dry 1000 SCFM, a cycling refrigerated air dryer running at 75% of the design capacity would save approximately $1,000 per year in electrical energy costs versus a non-cycling dryer. At 50% of design capacity, the savings would increase to $2,000 per year.

EMD Series cycling refrigerated compressed air dryers use direct expansion cooling to prevent dew point spikes, an inherent problem for competitive models using a thermal mass design. In thermal mass dryers, a refrigerant is used to cool a mass. This mass is then used to cool the compressed air. The time required to cool the mass delays cooling of the compressed air, resulting in dew point spikes up to 60° F that last 30 minutes or longer. These dew point spikes allow for extensive moisture carryover throughout the system.

In contrast, the Van Air cycling refrigerated dryer maintains a constant dew point temperature which helps eliminate moisture carryover. The constant dew point temperature provided by our EMD Series cycling refrigerated air dryers can be achieved because of its unique flooded evaporator design. Unlike competitive thermal mass dryers, we display a digital readout of the air dew point temperature on the cycling refrigerated dryer and issue a written guarantee of dew point performance.

Standard units are available from 80 through 8,000 SCFM. Custom units are available up to 25,000 SCFM. The capacity of the EMD Series cycling refrigerated compressed air dryer is based on operating conditions of 100° F inlet air temperature, 100° F ambient temperature and 100 PSIG operating pressure. Dryers rated for higher pressures or other operating conditions are available.
